It started because a restaurant owner wanted to know he was two units short before service, not after.
Overview
Tory tracks ingredients, drinks, recipes and stock across every location a restaurant group runs. Recipes carry a live food cost percentage. Managers count stock and raise purchase orders, admins approve them, and supplier invoices dropped into the system update prices and add items automatically.
It was built for a multi location pizza group and ran their real operation before it was ever a product. It is now multi tenant software with per tenant isolation, role based access for admins and managers, and analytics for low stock, location health and food cost breakdown.
The onboarding problem in this category is the spreadsheet every restaurant already keeps. Tory is being built to ingest that spreadsheet and create the ingredients, recipes and locations from it, so the first day is an upload rather than a data entry project.
The wedge
Why it holds.
It came out of an operating restaurant, not a product roadmap. Every feature answers something that actually went wrong during service.
Invoice ingestion. Dropping a supplier invoice updates cost and stock, which is the difference between a system that is maintained and one that is abandoned in week three.
Price history. Every ingested invoice writes a price point, which turns into margin intelligence no manual system can reconstruct.
